1. LOCATION

Location characteristics:
- At the intersection of national highways 1 A and 19 to provinces in the Central Highlands, the IP is 10 km from the center of Quy Nhon City, 12 km from Quy Nhon Port. 3 km from Dieu Tri Railway Station and 25 km from Phu Cat Airport .
- Total area: 320 hectares, of which 188 hectares have been endorsed by the Prime Minister, and 132 hectares are for expansion. Area for lease (for industrial purposes): 230.78 hectares.
2.INFRASTRUCTURE a. Transport and communications
- Inner transport: A system of asphalted roads with road borders ranging from 20m to 40m.
- Routes to the outside: Along National Highway 1 A and the NorthSouth train route via Dieu Tri Station.
- Telecommunications: Binh Dinh Province Post and Telecom Center to provide all the postal and telecom services.
b. Utilities
- Electrical power: power from the national network via the 220/110kV Phu Tai Transformer Station (capacity: 125MVA) to enterprises .
- Water system: Phu Tai Water Work (of Binh Dinh Water Supply and Drainage Company) with a daily capacity of 20,000 cu. m will provide 8,500 cu.m a day for Phu Tan IP. The permanent water piping system is being constructed. Currently, water is transmitted to enterprises through temporary plastic pipes.
- Waste water treatment: currently, a rainwater drainage system is in use. A waste water treatment plant (5.000 cu. m per day) will be built.
3. LAND RENT
USD 0.3/sq. m./year (including VAT).
4. INCENTIVES FOR FOREIGN INVESTMENT
One-stop mechanism: Binh Dinh IP Authority to carry out rapidly and free of charge all procedures required for investment license granting and developing the project after licensing. In addition to the Law on Foreign Investment in Vietnam, Binh Dinh Province offers other incentives as follows:
- Free rent of land without infrastructure for the first 10 years.
- A 50% reduction of corporate income tax for 5-10 years, depending on investment projects.
5. BUSINESS RESULTS
Up to May 2002, 85 projects were registered for operation in the IP, of which 52 had been put into operation. Total investment capital: VND 726.329 billion. Average work force: 9,300 workers.
Main investment industries: forestry product processing, granite processing (for export), paper and packaging production, building material production and aquaproduct processing (for export).
